Unleaded gasoline Pump nozzles are 3/4", Leaded Gasoline pump nozzles are 15/16" Diesel Pump nozzles are 1" LARGER than a gas nozzle. The unleaded gas filler necks were designed to be smaller so you cannot fit a leaded gas or diesel nozzle into them. Since there is no longer any highway use leaded fuel the only places that still use the 15/16" size are airports and private owned fuel pumps and tanks that weren't required to make the change over inthe 1970's. Having an open top to the fill like that looks like one of the worst ideas I've seen in a long time. What happens to the truck that spent all day running on dirt roads or some gravel pit? The outer fuel door isn't going to stop dirt and dust from collecting in there and when you get fuel, its going right in the tank. They need to get rid of DEF fluid in light duty trucks, its a waste of money and a failed design that does nothing but cost owners a ton of cash for little to no gain emission wise . For me, I'll keep my old truck till I die, which never had that crap in the first place.

Wow that was an excellent video thank you for posting. Is there any way to check fuel pumps without guage. Maybe by listening to it kick on ? I know its not the same thing as what you show in your video. My 87 f150 5.0 died on me, as i was driving. Pulled over for a few it started up went about a block and died again that happened like 5 times now she dont want to start it cranks but no start. I spayed starter fluid into intake and it started to a stumble but died right away. Any help

You can bypass the ECM controller for the fuel pumps with a jumper wire on the diagnostic connector between connector 2 and 6. Then you don’t have to dismantle the dash.

Amazingly great video thank you so much. I don't suppose you have anything you can put up on the 2015 Rogue AC resistor? I'm not able to find anything on UA-cam for that exact model and the videos I can find aren't showing the same resistor? Plus they're kind of all over the place on how to go about it. Thanks again! I'll be replacing this exact part tomorrow :)

This is an excellent walk through. I have never worked on cars (more of a computer guy), but after my wife's A/C went out, I decided to do some troubleshooting. After doing some research, it seemed clear the blower motor was dead. I bought a replacement, found this video, and managed to get it going this morning! Thank you, Dave! On a side note, your voice reminds me a lot of Coach Andy Reid. As a Chiefs fan, I find it awesome.

On these EEC-IV systems it is much easier to give power to the fuel pump by placing a jumper between pins 2 and 6 off the EEC-IV test connector.

I have a question… I just put a new REAR gas tank, fuel pump in sending unit in my 1993 dual tank F150 302. the front tank works great. I was finding that the rear tank wasn't sending any fuel, so I hooked 12V directly to the fuel pump, used a clear hose on the output, and what I am seeing is it's sputtering a little bit of fuel out. Very little. Why would this happen? Could it be a bad fuel pump? Shouldn't it be a solid stream of fuel coming out of the fuel pump down that hose? Now, I didn't prime the hose before I hooked it back up. I don't think you need to do that. Just curious what you think I should look at next.

Just gonna share my experience and hopefully the info may assist someone down the line. I watched this video and replaced the blower motor on my 2018 Rogue S. I checked the old blower motor by running a positive and negative wire straight from the battery to the motor and actually the old motor start spinning pretty good. At this point, I thought okay it must be the resistor then but I went ahead and installed the new blower motor anyways since I had already taken out the old one. Just for the sake of it I turned on my AC just to see what would happen, and lo and behold it was working without even replacing the resistor. Don't know what to think, but that was my experience.

Really really fanstastic presentation! And the closing remarks through the opening, good stuff gents! ... About to tackle this on a 5 yr old honda ridgeline that really should not have broken at such a young age. I'm not positive its a bad motor, but sure seems like it as there is a very loud grinding noise coming directly from motor when prompted to move. Does not slide more than an inch or two and tilts open but on one side only. Anyway thanks again. Edit: after further examination my sunroof appears to have a cable issue. I determined this because when I unscrewed motor from frame the cable was a bit tangled up in it AND the motor sounds perfectly fine now that it's been separated from loose cable. So I'm all ears for any videos on sunroof cable reallignment/replacement.

Just bought a 87 ford bronco that is supposed to be rebuilt. Has a very strong idle and runs great in neutral but if you put it in drive it gets completely gutless and sputters around. It didn’t have any vacuum lines when I bought it, replaced all them and still have the same issue. I’m clueless as a young man working on something older than I am but could use some advice if anyone has anything
